I look at what is going on, tell you what I think is wrong and what I would do if it were my own computer, and you decide before I start. When it is fixed, I make sure you understand what happened, and I write down your setup so the next time I am not starting from zero.

Before I touch your device, I tell you what is most likely going on. If a repair does not make sense, for example after liquid damage, I tell you so and you decide. If you want to go ahead anyway, I explain the risk first. Once I start working on it, that time is billable.
